Terrapin Station Winery
Elkton, MD 301-916-5415
Terrapin Station Winery is dedicated to combining old world standards with new and innovative technology to make the best wine possible from grapes best suited to our location. Our focus is making everything about wine fun and approachable, not stodgy and serious. And by contributing a portion of our sales to research and preservation of the Diamondback Terrapin, we hope to extend the legacy of the Bay, the Terrapin and the small farm for future generations. www.terrapinstationwinery.com

Frederick Cellars
221 N. East Street, Frederick, MD 21701 301-668-0311
Frederick Cellars is located in a wonderful old brick warehouse, originally built in 1904 as the Crystal Ice House. Our winery has seen many uses over the years; still, we're pretty confident in saying this is the first time it's been a winery. A former building tenant—we won't name names—says it's haunted. Time will tell. Through a century, it's undoubtedly seen many souls come and go. If it is haunted, we're hoping for amiable ghosts who can appreciate a fine Cabernet. www.frederickcellars.com

Aliceanna Winery
Baltimore, MD
Aliceanna Winery started in 2008 as a small venture between friends, sharing the tiny workspace of one and the wine making knowledge of another. The winemaker has beenmaking wine since 1998 and learned from his grandfather, Carl Cagno, who began at the age of 14 in 1934.

The winemaker's grandfather, Carl Cagno, learned to make wine in 1934 at the age of 14 from his father, Vincent Cagno. He was taught because his older and younger brothers were uninterested in winemaking. Carl and his father made hundreds of gallons of wine in their basement over the years, and Carl remembers his father taking orders from their friends and neighbors. Carl, now 91, continues to make wine each fall and sometimes in the spring. He has passed on his winemaking knowledge to his two grandsons.

Erik, at age 16, began by watching his grandfather teach his older brother winemaking. At the age of 18, he realized he wanted to know more about winemaking and began learning from his grandfather. About 10 years later, after relocating to Baltimore, Erik began to pursue making wine commericially and Aliceanna Winery was born. www.aliceannawinery.com
